Hands-on testing notes

Weight & ergonomics. XP pioneered wireless detecting in 2009 with the original Deus, and the benefit is still obvious: after a six-hour session the difference against a standard-class machine is felt in the shoulder, not read on a spec sheet.

Iron-infested ground. On medieval scatter thick with nails, recovery speed is what finds the coin beside the iron — and this is the fastest machine we test. Separation scored 4.8, the highest on our leaderboard.

In the water. Rated to 20 metres, the Deus II is the only mainstream flagship genuinely built for diving. For wading and surf work the rating is academic overkill — which is exactly what you want.
